Choose Price from: Made to measure. Then set:
- Size unit: mm, cm, m or in.
- Size: which of Width, Height and Depth are asked, an own label, smallest and largest.
- Price per:
- m² (width x height);
- metre of perimeter (2 x (width + height));
- running metre (width);
- m³ (width x height x depth);
- kg (volume x density), with Density (kg/m³).
- Rate: the price per m², metre, m³ or kg.
- Base price per piece.
- Round sizes up to: for example 10 to charge every started 10 units. 0 = exact.
- Smallest charged quantity: for example 0.5 to charge at least 0.5 m².
Charges and quantities Free
These work in every price mode.
- Setup fee per order line
- Minimum charge per order line
- Smallest and largest quantity
- Quantity discounts: from a quantity, a percent off the piece price
- Round the piece price to a step: to the nearest step, up or down. It never rounds down to zero.
- Allow a total of 0. Otherwise such a line needs a manual quote.
Worked example 1: glass panel
Price per m², rate 45, base price 5. Option "Edge" with the choice "Polished" at 6 per metre of edge. Customer enters 1200 x 800 mm and picks Polished:
- Area: 1.2 x 0.8 = 0.96 m² x 45 = 43.20
- Base price: 5.00
- Polished edge: 2 x (1.2 + 0.8) = 4 m x 6 = 24.00
- Total: 72.20
With a quantity discount of 10 percent from 5 pieces, 5 panels cost 64.98 each: 324.90.
Worked example 2: roller blind (from the preset)
Price per m², rate 38. Option "Fabric" with "Linen look" at 9.50 per m². Customer enters 1250 x 1000 mm and picks Linen look:
- 1.25 m² x 38 = 47.50
- 1.25 m² x 9.50 = 11.875, rounded to 11.88
- Total: 59.38
Worked example 3: cut to size, quick shape Free
Material "Acrylic 3 mm", one 2440 x 1220 mm sheet at 89.30. Rate 1.20 per metre of cut, 0.15 per pierce. Customer orders a 600 x 400 mm rectangle:
- Material: 0.24 m² of a 2.9768 m² sheet = 7.20
- Cutting: 2 m x 1.20 = 2.40
- 1 pierce: 0.15
- Total: 9.75

Rules
- A formula has at most 500 characters.
- A result below 0, or not a number, gives no price: the line cannot be bought until the options change.
- A formula that cannot be read is not saved. GaugeQuote names the error, for example "Unknown name", and keeps the last good settings.
- Customer price lists scale formula lines too.
- The server always works out the formulas itself.
Examples
- Handling per order line:
2 + pierces * 0.1. With 5 pierces: 2.50. - Surcharge for wide pieces plus a price per hole option:
if(width > 2000, 15, 0) + holes * 0.8. - A charge for one material only:
material.mdf-18-mm * 4.
